The Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen seeks to appoint a tenure track assistant professor or associate professor to commence 1 February 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Department of Biomedical Sciences focuses on basic and translational biomedicine, and integration of these topics.
Our staff includes graduates in medicine and natural sciences, with interests spanning physiology, biochemistry, anatomy, pharmacology, and clinical medicine.
We deliver high-quality, research-based and clinically relevant undergraduate teaching in biomedicine courses, and supervise postgraduate students enrolled in the Graduate School.
The Department is supported by a skilled team of laboratory technicians and administrative staff.

A key selection criterion for the position is documented original scientific work at a high international level within one of the Department's research themes.
Applicants for the associate professor position must also be able to document relevant teaching competences and experience.

Terms of employment
The position is permanent and the average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set out in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organizations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.
A start-up package can be negotiated with successful candidates.

Assessment procedure
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee.
All applicants are then immediately notified whether their application has been passed for assessment.
The Dean then appoints an expert assessment committee to assess the selected applicants for the specific post.
Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee, and each applicant can comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
