The University seeks to appoint an associate professor at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology to commence January 1st 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
At the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology we work in a dynamic and committed academic community of research, education, innovation, and outreach within the Pharmaceutical Sciences bridging Health Science and Life Science.

Radiopharmaceuticals have been shown to be valuable tools for drug development.
Molecular imaging agents with a specific focus on theranostic approaches are key in this aspect.
Within the last decade, radioligand therapies have become a major focus area as they offer improved therapeutic windows compared to other treatment options.
At the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, a special focus lies within the application of radiohalogens for diagnostic and therapeutic use.These radionuclides have optimal decay properties for both applications.
Job description
For this associate professorship, the main emphasis will be on the candidate’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of radiopharmaceutical chemistry.
The candidate will perform research-based teaching within radiopharmaceutical chemistry as well as contribute to the teaching and supervision within organic- and medicinal chemistry.
The candidate will also be responsible for key activities related to the newly built radiopharmaceutical chemistry laboratories, including the role as radio safety officer and ensuring laboratory maintenance and safety.

Terms of employment
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years.
The average weekly working hours are appox.
16,65 hours per week.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.
