About Agreena Agreena is an exciting, dynamic, and purpose-oriented organisation united in a mission to mobilise farmers and corporations to unlock the value of nature and help restore the planet. While we’re rooted in agriculture, finance, and technology, our team of experts range from soil carbon scientists and software developers to market strategists and regulatory affairs experts. Over 200 employees across more than 40 nationalities are gathered under the common Agreena flag – either working from our headquarters in Copenhagen, offices in London, or remotely across Europe.
Agreena provides solutions that drive both environmental and financial sustainability. Our company offers a supportive and positive work environment with opportunities for learning, leading, and growth no matter where you are in your professional journey. We believe in giving our employees a lot of responsibility, and we encourage new thinking, innovation, and fun.
The Agreena Program team investigates the science required for on farm activity and data measurement that can support verification by independent standards. The team is composed of three key groups: Science, Standards, and Program Data. As a member of the Program Data team, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, processing, and ensuring the quality of all the data essential for the effective functioning of the Agreena program.
How will you make an impact:
You will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to reward farmers for transitioning to regenerative agricultural practices. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality and range of agricultural data utilised in our carbon models as well as our remote sensing models. Another key part of the role will be working with Agreena’s current agricultural partners across Europe, such as Farm Management Software companies, agronomy companies, and large agro holdings, to enable and facilitate effective data exchange. Rather than bringing the technical data engineering knowledge required to build these partnerships you will be providing the agricultural knowledge needed to evaluate and assess the quality of accuracy of Agricultural data.
By sourcing, analysing, and optimising our sources of agricultural data, you will directly contribute to accurately measuring and incentivising positive changes in farming practices that reduce carbon emissions and enhance soil health.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone with an arable farming background who has applied their agricultural knowledge and skills to the tech sector. This gives you a unique understanding of the challenges with collecting agricultural data while also understanding how data can be applied to improve processes in a fast moving tech company. In more detail, we are looking for the following four points:
- Agricultural Expertise : Understanding of agricultural practices, preferably with direct experience in farming, agronomy, or related fields. Knowledge of regenerative arable practices such as reduced tillage, cover cropping, or mulching is highly desirable
- Ag Data Sourcing Experience : You should feel comfortable meeting with Farm Management Software companies discussing the data they could potentially provide while providing insights on its potential quality and accuracy
- Collaborative Team Player : Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams and external partners. A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- Technical Understanding : While you won’t be leading on the technical side of the project, an understanding of APIs, big-data manipulation, remote sensing, statistical analysis, and database management would be highly advantageous.
Bonus points if:
- You have prior experience working with farm level FMS tools such as John Deere Operations Center, Farmplan Gatekeeper, or Class Telematics
- You have prior experience working with, or sourcing, data used for training machine learning algorithms
- You have prior experience with or an understanding of agricultural remote sensing solutions using satellite or aerial imagery
- You are experienced with GIS software such as QGis or AcrGIS
- You have prior experience working with large corporate agroholding such as those found in Eastern Europe.
What's in it for you:
- A unique opportunity to join and help shape a fast-growing tech scale up with the determination and ambitious mission to reverse climate change
- A truly global environment where you can collaborate and socialise with diverse and passionate colleagues
- Competitive compensation package and holidays
